Fiddling with a forgotten shot

3/26/2011

It's always good to look through your old photos - whether it's to bring back memories, look for ways in which you have or could improve or for future inspiration. Whilst looking at some of my photos from late last year I came across a set from a weekend in North Wales which I'd completely forgotten about. This was taken with a lens which I've since killed.

I've recently bought an intervalometer as I want to have a play with making a few time lapses. No doubt it will take some practice, but I've got a few crazy ideas in mind, so we'll see what I can produce!

Out of control

Unfortunately there's more to kayaking photography than simply getting the right settings, and the right light - you're also reliant on the paddler getting it right. So you're set up, with some great light and after a few duff shots you've got the focus pin point (still learning the 135mm f/2.8 manual focus), all you need now is for your mate to style the line...

I've been neglecting the site for a while - time for that to change. Last weekend was the National Student Rodeo, and this years was the biggest ever with over 1000 students descending on Holme Pierrepont in Nottingham for a weekend of partying and competition.

The rain on Saturday meant I didn't really use the camera too much until Sunday, which wasn't a great day - flat light and a stinking hangover combined to create quite a challenge!

The sun came out eventually, but only after I'd put the camera away for the day so that I could jump on and have a play in the Pyranha demo boats - can't be behind the camera all the time!
