It had been a while since I'd last been on a river, so when I saw heavy rain forecast I kept an eye on the radar and set about seeing who else might be up for some paddling. A group of us headed to Dartmoor with our fingers crossed, hoping that the heavy rain would have brought the rivers up; and whilst the heaviest of the rain seemed to have drifted too far north, we still found the Upper Dart and Erme gorge at reasonable levels. We ticked off a quick run of the Upper Dart, and moved on to the Erme gorge which provided more excitement than any of our group had been expecting!
Before Christmas I saw an old Minolta MD 135mm f/2.8 lens on ebay for just £12.50 and decided it was probably worth a punt. A cheap adapter fits it to the MA mount on my Sony body, and I've got a cheap prime lens (albeit one that can't auto focus). Having looked at the photos, I'm pretty happy with the results, just need to practise my manual focusing with a shallow depth of field...
I'm keeping an eye on the forecast for this weekend, fingers crossed the predicted rain comes in again.
